ED Arrests Key Accused In Tirumala Adulterated Ghee Case

The Enforcement Directorate has made another arrest in the Tirumala ghee adulteration case. ED arrested Kailash Chand Mangla, promoter of Sukriti Foods, in connection with the alleged supply of adulterated ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

Mangla was produced before a special PMLA court in Visakhapatnam, which sent him to judicial custody. The ED is now looking into his alleged role in the supply of ghee used for preparing Tirumala laddu prasadam.

According to the ED, Mangla’s company allegedly prepared ghee using refined palm oil, palm kernel oil, palmolein and other chemicals instead of pure cow ghee. The agency claims this adulterated product was then supplied to TTD as Agmark Special Grade Cow Ghee.

Mangla is the second major person to be arrested by the ED in this case. Earlier, the agency arrested Vipin Jain, who is also accused of being involved in the alleged manufacture and supply of adulterated ghee.

The latest arrest shows that the ED investigation is moving deeper into the alleged network behind the Tirumala ghee supply.
