Pulwama terror attack: All-party meet underway as India mourns Pulwama martyrs

New Delhi: The nation bid a teary goodbye to the 40 CRPF jawans on Friday who were martyred in the dastardly Pulwama attack two days ago, when a suicide bomber had rammed his explosive-laden car into the bus of a CRPF convoy on Srinagar-Jammu highway. The mortal remains of the fallen soldiers were airlifted from Srinagar by the Indian Air Force (IAF) and brought to New Delhi on Friday evening.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the three service chiefs as well as several other politicians, including Congress President Rahul Gandhi paid homage to the martys at Palam airport in the national capital. Meanwhile, the NDA government have vowed to avenge the cowardly attack, with PM Modi stating that the security forces have been given “free hand” to decide on their response to the attack and that perpetrators of Pulwama would “pay a heavy price.”
