The prestigious Lulu Group will soon foray into Vizag. The world-class Lulu Mall and convention center project, which was originally cancelled by the then YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government citing land disputes and norm violations, has now been revived by Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
In September 2024, the Lulu Group International MD M.A. Yousuff Ali met with AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The CM welcomed the Lulu Group back to Vizag. In January, the Lulu Group submitted a representation to the AP government to revive the shopping mall cum convention center project in Vizag.
The representation included plans for a mega shopping mall featuring a world-class hypermarket, a children’s amusement park named Funtura, a fine-dining food court, an 8-screen IMAX multiplex, and a huge parking space.
On Wednesday, the AP government directed the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) to scrutinize the Lulu Group’s proposal and obtain necessary permissions from concerned authorities to facilitate the project at the earliest.
