WHAT IS A FLOOR TEST
- A floor test is required to ensure that the government in power enjoys the support of the majority of members in the house.

- A vote of non-confidence is moved by any member of the house if the person feels that the government is minority in the house.
- If the chief minister and his cabinet survives the floor test, it is legitimate to run the government, or else the government will be collapsed.
- MODE OF ELECTION

Division vote: Voting will take place either through ballot, electronic gadgets, slips or through rising from the chair.
- Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala on Friday appointed KG Bopaiah of the BJP as the pro tem speaker for the floor test on Saturday.
