Hyderabad: Finance Minister Etela Rajender appealed the Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley to resolve pending Good and Service Tax (GST) issues, as the new tax regime’s implementation has already reached six months.
Rajender on Saturday participated in a video conference from Secretariat held by Union Finance Minister. The GST council has decided to implement e-way bills system from February 1, 2018. The Union Minister said the e-way bill will bring uniformity across the nation and ensure quick disposal of goods.
In view of the new all India electronic-way bill system, the Union Finance Minister made some suggestions during the video conference to the States to be carried out during its implementation. The Council decided that till the national e-way Bill is ready, the States were told to continue their own separate e-way bill systems. During 7th GST council meeting in New Delhi, Etela raised objections over Centres interference in State tax system and said States should be given free hand in collection of their own taxes.
