Filmfare Awards: 7 For RRR & 5 For Sita Ramam

The Filmfare awards in Telugu category for the films released in 2022 have been announced. And as expected, RRR bagged 7 awards. RRR won awards in the categories of Best Actor in Lead Role for NTR and Ram Charan along with other categories like Best Film, and Best Director.

RRR – 7 Awards

  • Best Film: RRR
  • Best Director: S. S. Rajamouli
  • Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male): N.T.R. Jr, Ram Charan
  • Best Music Album: M. M. Keeravani
  • Best Playback Singer (Male): Kaala Bhairava (Komuram Bheemudo)
  • Best Choreography: Prem Rakshith (Naatu Naatu)
  • Best Production Design: Sabu Cyril

Hanu Raghavapuri directional Sita Ramam also won five awards two of them in Critics’ Choice. Dulquer Salmaan won the Best Actor Award in the Critics’ Choice while Mrunal Thakur won the Best Actor in A Leading Role (Female).

SitaRamam – 5 Awards

  • Best Film (Critics’): Sita Ramam (Hanu Raghavapudi)
  • Best Actor (Critics’): Dulquer Salmaan
  • Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female): Mrunal Thakur
  • Best Lyrics: Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry (Kaanunna Kalyanam)
  • Best Playback Singer (Female): Chinmayi Sripada (Oh Prema)

Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavis Virataparvam won two awards, one for Sai Pallavi in the Best Actress category critics’ choice and Nandita Das for a supporting role.

VirataParvam – 2 Awards

  • Best Actress (Critics’): Sai Pallavi
  • Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female): Nandita Das

Bheemla Nayak, the official Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster Ayyappanum Koshiyum won a Filmfare for Rana Daggubati in the category ‘Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male)’. Rana Daggubati appeared in the role of Daniel Sehkar.
