Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the chief minister of Maharashtra on Saturday morning on a shocking overnight political strike. Until yesterday, it was nearly confirmed that Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray will swear in as the next CM of the state. But the big twist today morning left Shiv Sena, Congress and Maharashtrians in sheer shock.

On the other hand, Ajit Pawar took oath as deputy chief minister, who is a member of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), one of the three parties working to create an alternative alliance. Soon after these two were sworn in, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Fadnavis and Pawar.
