CM can review ongoing projects: Election Commission

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh state Chief Electoral Officer Gopal Krishna Dwivedi responded on a complaint by YSRCP against AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu on alleged violation of election code. Dwivedi asserted that Chief Minister and other ministers can pay a visit to state secretariat and CM can also conduct some review meetings. But they should not indulge in political activities, CEO asserted. He added that everything is clearly mentioned in the rule book and to be followed by everyone. He stated that CEC asked them to send the topics discussed by Naidu on April 10 at his office. Earlier, YSRCP filed a complaint against Babu for conducting review meetings.
Responding to another question, Dwivedi said that one of the polling booths in Railway Koduru constituency in Kadapa polled more votes than actual votes. He said that according to report of District Collector it is a typo error. He appreciated that all the Collectors worked hard to conducted elections fairly. Dwivedi added that nearly Rs. 550-600 crores were spent to conduct the elections in the state.
