Scientific land survey soon, says CM KCR
As part of setting right the vexed issue of land records in the State, the government will take up a scientific land survey that will be accurate to the centimetre, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said on Monday.
Declaring that the work on purification of land records was 95 per cent complete, the Chief Minister said the rest of the land records where ownership was in dispute and fall under Part B of the exercise, was mostly a legacy problem.
Because of the actions of the previous governments, there were disputes between Revenue and Forest Departments over land. These cases also include pattas issued for forest land and those related to ownership disputes pending before courts, he said.
It was during the Congress governments that pattas were issued in forest lands, for instance in Nizambad district, he added.
