Boat Accident in Godavari River

The tragedy took place between 4.30 PM to 5 PM near Manturu of Devipatnam Mandal in East Godavari district. Locals suspected that huge wind turned the boat around causing in its sinking. While 5 of the 40 managed to swim and came to the shore, 35 others are reportedly missing (at 8 PM) today.

It is heard that a wedding group was traveling in the boat while the full details are still awaited. The rescue operations are currently on. NDRF has stepped into the action while higher officials are monitoring the situation.
