By winning the Under-19 World Cup 2018 trophy on Saturday, India became the first and only nation in the word to claim the trophy 4 times. India won the title earlier in 2000, 2008 and 2012.

On Saturday, India pulled off a stunning 8-wicket win over Australia in the final of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. A clinical bowling performance by India first restricted Australia to 216, and then the batsmen aced the chase pretty comfortably with 67 balls to spare.

India’s 19-year-old batsman, Manjot Kalra smashed an unbeaten hundred to help India crush Australia in just 38.5 overs in the pressure final game. Kalra also became the 2nd Indian and 5th overall to score a hundred in the U-19 World Cup final.

Batting first, Australia looked well on course to reach 250, but their collapse from 183/4 to 216 all out was engineered by Indian spinners with utmost authority. After the platform was laid by the bowlers, Indian batsmen made no mistake in chasing the moderate target of 217.

Congratulatory messages for the young cricketers are pouring in from every corner for the record 4th World Cup trophy.
